*Appointments are available outside of normal business hours. A convenience fee of $45 will be applied & you must call to schedule.

Do you accept walk-in's?
Absolutely! However please note that walk-in's are serviced around regularly scheduled clients so there may be a wait. It is recommended to schedule an appointment to avoid any delay.

Do offer regular hair services?
Ofcourse! Take a look at our salon service menu. We are experienced with ALL phases of hair, not just extensions. Our team constantly attends workshops, seminars, hair shows & classes to bring you the latest in natural textured hair, cuts, color, styles, and healthy hair. Health of the hair is our number 1 goal.

What is discussed during the consultation?
We always offer a mini consult before your service to ensure your stylist knows exactly what you expect; however, we do offer a more in depth consultation for you to schedule where we will talk analyze your hair & scalp, discuss your desired look and or hair goals. With that information we then provide a personalized hair regimen to help you achieve your goals.

I am not located in your area, do you travel?
This depends on the service you are seeking and the state board rules & regulations for the state in which the services are being performed. I do abide by each states regulations regarding cosmetology. Some states do not require a license to perform hair extensions while other states require a simple registration. I am currently able to practice extensions in KY and GA. If you are not located within these two states, please contact me for further information.

WEAVE SERVICES

How should my hair be prepared for my appointment?
You must come with your hair clean, dry, and free of ANY product. I will properly moisturize your hair & scalp depending on the service being provided. Failing to come to your appointment prepared may result in you having to reschedule your appointment.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?
Well simply put, to ensure you are serious about your appointment. When you book a 3-4 hr appointment for extensions and don't show for any reason, I loose that slot for the day. This is my profession, not a side gig.

Do I need a consultation?
Yes! A consult is required for any weave/extension service. I can perform your install the same day in most cases in which case you don't need to pay the deposit.

What type of hair do you recommend for extensions?
To answer this question I would need to know how long you plan to wear your extensions, what type of style, and how often you plan to get your extension installed. Generally clients get Remy or Virgin Remy hair. This hair lasts through the normal install and is reusable. Please DO NOT purchase any hair from the beauty supply store unless you are comfortable with the results this hair offers.

What brand of hair do you suggest?
Remember, we offer the Contagious Hair brand for advance purchase however you DO NOT have to use this hair. Below is a list (in no particular order) of decent beauty supply store brands that can be used as an alternative:

Long term or Re-usable Hair
Cuticle Remy XQ
Bohyme Platinum Collection (silver pack)
Sensationnel Premium Now (yellow pack)
Sensationnel Goddess Remy
Outre Velvet Remy
Hollywood Remy
Capelli Mink hair (OK Beauty Supply 562-531-7699)
Capelli Cuticle hair (OK Beauty Supply 562-531-7699)

Temporary: up to 1 month:
Outre Premium Now Yaky (purple/gold pack)
Milky Way
Zury Idol
Dreamweaver
Onyx Yaky
Harlem 125

Closure Pieces: These ARE NOT lace closures. Lace closures can only be purchased online
Janet Collection $25
Sensationnel Goddess Remy Closure $60
Outre Velvet Remy Closure $60
Bobbi Boss Human Hair closure $20

Please note: I do not endorse any of these brands. I suggest you do your due diligence in researching these brands. I am not responsible nor do I guarantee the quality of any of the aforementioned.

For Curly/Wavy styles I do not suggest the BSS human hair. If it is a must, I suggest using synthetic hair for any curly/wavy texture.

What is the Glue-Free Quickweave?
The difference between a regular quickweave and my glue-free quickweave™ is the protection level. Yes I still use glue, but I use a special technique that protects your natural hair 100% from bonding glue and eliminates the use for gel/spritz molds, stocking caps, mummy wraps and paper method. GUARANTEED! You have to see it to believe it!

I'm natural/transitioning, do you offer protective styling?
ABSOLUTELY! As a matter of fact, my glue-free quickweave™ is the most popular choice for clients that are natural or transitioning from relaxed to natural other than a sew-in weave because it allows them to fully cover their natural tresses for protection without having to worry about blending issues. I also offer several weaving/extension methods, lace wigs, Dominican Blowout, shampoo sets, and the Brazilian Keratin Treatment for protective styles.

How long can I wear a Glue-Free Quickweave?
The glue-free quickweave™ is water soluble which means once you are ready to remove your weave, you simple rinse it off with warm water for about 5 minutes with no worries of glue residue. It can be worn up to 4 weeks (some longer) but I DO NOT suggest going that length of time without cleansing your hair and scalp and since the product is water soluble, that means you can wear it safely for about 2 weeks (3 weeks is pushing it).

So can I swim or workout with a Glue-Free Quickweave?
The same rules apply with my glue-free quickweave™ as they do with a regular quickweave or bond-in You normally cannot wear a regular quickweave during swimming activities as this will cause your weave to loosen tremendously. Exercising on the other hand depends on you. If you tend to sweat profusely then the glue-free quickweave™ or any quickweave for that matter may not be the right choice for you as the same loosening effect will occur.

You offer so many methods I never even heard of. What are they and which do I choose?
This is why I require a consult. During this time we will discuss your current regimen, your health, your goals, and I will analyze your hair and scalp. With this information I will suggest the best technique(s) for you and explain the pro's & con's of each.

How many packs of hair do I need?
8ounces (2 packs) of hair is sufficient for a full head, natural looking install.

How long does my hair have to be to get a weave?
I prefer working with lengths longer than 4 inches; however this is always not the case. This will be determined during your consult.

How long does it take to get my weave installed?
You can expect to be in my chair for 2-3 hours. However this timeframe does vary from client to client and depends on the service. being rendered.

Do I have to get a relaxer before a weave? I am natural.
A relaxer is certainly not required for a weave. Actually it's the total opposite. If you are relaxed, you must wait at least 2 weeks after a fresh relaxer before having a sew-in weave installed. *see below* However, I recommend a custom enclosure sew in (all of the hair braided up) if you are natural or do not feel comfortable maintaining the top area of your hair between salon visits.

Are there any restrictions for getting a weave?

1) I will not do a sew-in on freshly relaxed hair. The hair is at a vulnerable state after it is freshly relaxed and the hair is more difficult to braid into a secure foundation thus the install may become weak & loose.  I understand that a client may not want to go without a weave because it has become a part of their life but hair care is more important in my opinion.

2) I will not do weaves or fusion on hair that is excessively shedding or breakage. It is important to try to get to the bottom of why your hair is damaged. Masking the problem does not stop it. I may require a series of treatments to get your hair back to a healthy state before installing a weave.

3) I personally will not install a weave on hair shorter than 4 inches. The foundation may not hold up for the sewn-in weave if the hair is too short. Plus, I cannot grip short hair very well. I also don't want you to waste money on something that may not hold up for the 6-8 weeks or so.

How long can I wear a weave?
This depends on the type of weave installed. I recommend that you wear your sew-in weave no longer than 8 to 12 weeks. The commercial hair itself will hold up much longer, but it’s really about your hair underneath. I suggest you come in for a regular visit every 4 to 6 weeks for Extension Maintenance. This maintenance session includes an invigorating shampoo, a tightening session, weave trim or shaping, and edge up care.

What should I put on my hair underneath my weave?
My favorite moisturizer to use underneath a weave is S curl, ORS olive oil, or Lisa Akbari's Moisture Plus.

EXTENSION SERVICES

How should my hair be prepared for my appointment?
You must come with your hair clean, dry, and free of ANY product. I will properly moisturize your hair & scalp depending on the service being provided. Failing to come to your appointment prepared may result in you having to reschedule your appointment.

Which Fusion method is the most safe?
The S.T. Silica Fusion link system is by far the most safe. They offer the same illusions as the flashpoint fusion, however, they are healthier for your hair, last longer, and you can apply any type of products to your hair without the worry that your fusion is going to fall out. Silica Fusion is recommended for any hair type, especially African American hair texture.

What kind of hair do you use for fusion?

This depends on which system we choose and your hair texture.  We use brands such as Cinderella Hair, Lord & Cliff, Flhair, Ultratress, Mega Hair, etc.  These company brands consist of Indian Remy hair, Yaki hair, European hair, Russian hair, Indonesian hair, and come in a variety of curl patterns.

How long does the Fusion process take?
The time depends on the length and style desired.  You can plan to be in the salon from 2-8 hours.

How many strands does it take to complete a full head of Fusion extensions?
Generally takes 150 to 200 strands to complete a complete head of natural looking extensions. If you are just adding highlights, a little volume or length it could take less; however, if you desire a full head of length, volume, and prefer to look like a model in the Pantene commercial then it may require more. Of course all of these factors rely on your hair type, density, and texture and will be determined during your consultation.

How long does fusion last?

Invisible strands (regular fusion) can last up to 3 months, with Silica Fusion (cold fusion) can up to 6 months. I strongly recommend you read & follow your maintenance packet carefully. It will list all the recommended products and tools to care for your extensions at home as well as regular maintenance check up's.

Will fusion cause damage to my hair?
With proper application, proper care while wearing the fusion, and proper removal, the fusion method should not cause damage. I do not recommend applying fusion or any extension method for that matter to weak/damaged hair.

Can I use Fusion to grow out my hair?
You can, but I do not feel that this is the absolute best way. Please be mindful that you will need to take extra care of your hair that is in between the fusion bonds. Minimize the use of hot curlers. Since your natural hair is intertwined with the fusion hair, anything you do to the fusion hair affect your natural hair.

Are there any restrictions on getting fusion?

1) I will not install fusions on freshly relaxed hair. The hair needs to be at least 1 week post relaxed.

2) I prefer to work with hair that is at least 4 inches long. However, this may not always be the case for fusion since we are more concerned with coverage. This will be determined during the consultation.

3)I will not install fusion on damage/stressed hair for obvious reasons.

How much do hair fusion cost?
It depends on what your goal is. It will cost from $850 to $2000 and in different cases if you only want few highlights or just a few rows the cost will be less. Please Note: Fusion extensions is based on a buildable method and a "few" rows will NOT give you the look you are looking for.

What is this lace front wig everyone is talking about?
Lace front wigs, full lace wigs, and lace frontals are the hottest trend out among extension/weave wearers. It is a wig made with thin, sturdy lace material. Individual strands of hair are ventilated to the base. This design creates a realistic looking hairline. The lace is trimmed to match the hairline and shape of your head and when properly attached, the hairline is so realistic looking it is virtually undetectable and the hair appears as if it is growing directly from your scalp.

What's the different between a lace front wig and a full lace wig?
A lace front wig is made as a traditional wig however it has lace in the front hairline from ear to ear and sometimes in the nape. A full lace wig is made of entire lace.

Can anyone wear a lace wig?
Yes and no. Lace wigs were initially created for hair loss patients due to trauma, cancer, etc, and for theatrical purposes. The units itself were extremely expensive as we know the first to actually make them fashion were celebrities. Now they are so popular and so affordable, everyday people like you and I can purchase them. However depending on hairline growth, daily activities, and body chemistry, a lace unit may not be the best option for some.

How do I get one?
You can purchase a Contagious Lace Unit on Contagious Hair.com. We have custom units that are moderately priced starting at $299. You can set up a Lace Unit consult and your first install is free with purchase. However, there are several vendors online to choose from. My best advice is to do your due diligence and research the vendor to the best of your ability. I have had several clients that have lost money on ebay and with other vendors either to not receive what they requested or received nothing at all. Unlike some resellers, we are hands-on with our units. We have master ventilators with more than 30 years of experience constructing lace wigs. To be more specific, our ventilators are the original cranial hair prosthesis (lace wig) constructors for Hair Club for Men - remember them?

Does the wig last a year or more?
This is true.... to an extent. You must properly take care of the unit and wear it only for a few days a month to see this longevity. Although the statement "lasts more than a year" sounds good to you as a consumer, and it helps put money into your sellers pockets, it just isn't that simple. The truth is with only one unit and daily wear, the wig will last but may need repairs after 6 months or so. This is true even for "seasoned" lace front wearers.

How do I put it on and take it off?
Don't worry, we take care of all that for you. During your application and or removal, you are in front of the mirror the entire time and we guide you along as we attach your unit. We have web based instruction online at Contagious Hair.com

How long does it stay on?
This depends on your daily activities, skin/hair behavior, and allergens, It is also dependant on which bond we use. There are several bonds on the market from soft bonds that will last a few days to a hard bond that will last a few weeks. Please remember that it is trial and error to determine which method of application is right for you.
